Brief description

This data set was collected by sensors located on the Ship, and will be used for investigation of Ocean Acidification. The work is being funded by the Great Barrier Reef Foundation (GBRF) in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS).

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring Dissolved Oxygen Percent on trip 6517 from 29 Oct 2016 through to 03 Nov 2016, and the installation was located at/on RV Cape Ferguson.

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring pH on trip 6517 from 29 Oct 2016 through to 03 Nov 2016, and the installation was located at/on RV Cape Ferguson.

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring CO2 in sea water on trip 6517 from 29 Oct 2016 through to 05 Nov 2016, and the installation was located at/on RV Cape Ferguson.

Notes

The purpose for collecting this data can be summarised as follows.
1. To document anthropogenic changes in pH and aragonite saturation state as a result of ocean acidification.
2. To determine key biogeochemical processes that affect the resilience of the Great Barrier Reef shelf to ocean acidification & to pinpoint areas of high and low resilience to ocean acidification.
